Name: Blood Drive at Town Hall - URGENT NEED
Date: September 11, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
The American Red Cross has declared the second national blood crisis in its history. All blood types are needed, but the situation is especially dire for type O. The blood supply fell nearly 25% in June, and blood donations are now at a four-year summer low. Donors are asked to take action immediately to help save lives.

The Red Cross is now limiting distributions of type O blood to hospitals.
Immediate blood donations are needed.

There will be a blood drive at Town Hall on
Friday, September 11, 2026
12:00noon – 5:00 pm
in the Auditorium.

Besides regular blood donations, “Power Red” donations will also be available at this drive. A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. Whichever type of donation you choose, it will be in another person within 4-7 days so the need is real and unending. Patients with cancer, burns, chronic diseases, certain surgeries, sickle cell, trauma and more all need blood.

You may sign up for an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org, download the
Blood Donor App or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes on the day of your appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions.

If you have any questions about this or any other aspects about donating blood, please visit https://www.redcrossblood.org and select an option under “Donate Blood”.

As a bonus, presenting donors will receive a one-of-a-kind Red Cross x Hello Kitty collectible plush mascot clip and surprise sticker pack, while supplies last!

The Red Cross is working with hospitals around the clock to meet the blood needs of patients – but can’t do it alone. We need donors, like you, to help provide this lifesaving care. Your commitment to our blood drive’s success and your town are greatly appreciated. A single blood donation may help up to three different people! Thank you!
