Name: A Presentation on the Town of Bethlehem and the American Revolution: Veteran Stories
Date: March 19, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Event Description:

The Seniors Group at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar is pleased to invite you to join us on Thursday, March 19 for a 1:00 presentation by Susan Leath, Town of Bethlehem Historian from 2007-2023. As the kickoff for our commemoration of this year’s 250th Anniversary of the USA and New York State, her topic will be The Town of Bethlehem and the American Revolution: Veteran Stories.

Susan will give a brief overview of what the Town was like 250 years ago, with a focus on stories of local veterans with familiar names like Selkirk, Slingerland, and Winne. Ms. Leath was a frequent guest speaker for our group a decade ago and her slide presentations of archived photos and accompanying stories make for a delightful peek into the past.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church is located at 85 Elm Avenue in Delmar NY, and we welcome all interested members of the community to join us. The program will begin promptly at 1:00 in our multi-purpose room. Enter either door and look for signs to the presentation. It would be helpful if you would e-mail Dorothy at ccnyrcs@aol.com with your name to say that you plan to come, and then arrive 10-15 minutes before 1:00.
