Minimum Wage Increase Takes Effect 12/31/2018. New York State’s minimum wage will continue to increase annually, taking effect December 31st of this year. For Upstate New York, the wage will increase from $10.40/hr to $11.10/hr and for fast food workers, the wage will increase to $12.75/hr for fast food workers. This increase will help to lift the wages of workers across the board – especially for low-wage workers – and will invigorate our local economies as workers spend more within their communities.
