PicklePalooza 2025: Bethlehem’s New Community Festival and Friendly Pickleball Tournament!

BETHLEHEM – Get ready for an exciting new addition for the Bethlehem community! The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce’s PicklePalooza 2025 will bring together pickleball newcomers and enthusiasts, and festival goers at the Elm Avenue Town Park in Delmar, on May 3.

The SABIC Community Festival kicks off at 10 am and runs until 6 pm. The event will be open to the public, and attendees will enjoy a variety of activities, including music by DJ Nate Deurcher, food truck specialties (featuring pickles…of course), local vendors, games, and the Merriman and Pfister Artists’ Market. In case of rain, the event and tournament will be rescheduled to Sunday, May 4.

“We want to thank SABIC, Owens Corning, WellNow, AllPhase, and all of our sponsors who make it possible for us to provide something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re on the pickleball court or exploring the festival,” said Teri Spina, president of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event.

This unique event will feature a “friendly” Pickleball Tournament designed exclusively for beginner and intermediate players. Participants will play four games in the morning, with the top four teams in each division advancing to the afternoon playoff rounds. Sign-in begins at 7:30 am, with the tournament concluding with a medal ceremony at 4:45 pm.

“For those new to pickleball, we are excited to offer ‘Learn to Play’ sessions, where beginners can try the sport in a welcoming environment with guidance from experienced players,” said Spina, “We hope this special day will turn into an annual tradition.”

The tournament will be divided into three divisions and two skill levels of play. Divisions include: Women, Men and Mixed teams, and levels of play at, 2.5 and 3.0 skill levels. Those who are relatively new to the game but can keep score and know the rules, register for the 2.5 level; and more skilled players who can keep rallies going with decent control should register for 3.0 level. This is a friendly competition, and players will be self-officiating.

Registration for sponsorships, pickleball players, and vendor tables can be found on the Events Calendar on the Bethlehem Chamber website www.bethlehemchamber.com. There is a limited number of pickleball spots, and vendor and maker tables available. For more information contact the Chamber 518-439-0512.
