Registered Nurse - Integrative Health Practice

Stram Center For Integrative Medicine
Job Description

Job Summary

The Stram Center is a unique practice designed to support chronically ill patients in their journey to health. Our practice collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, naturopaths, dieticians, acupuncturists, and mental health counselors to provide individualized care plans for those undergoing treatment for chronic illness, general wellness, and supportive oncology care. The nursing team is the heart of the practice, integral to helping keep all the parts moving in synchrony, and we are looking to expand our team. The right individual would need to have strong IV placement skills and the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Our practice has a large population of patients that come in for medical infusions daily. These patients often have multiple chronic illnesses or receive supportive oncology infusions. We are looking for a nurse with strong IV placement skills as our team often places over 100 peripheral IVs a week.
  • The right candidate would need to be able to work as a team and anticipate the needs of the practice as well as be able to work autonomously.
  • We offer a variety of supportive therapies such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Softwave, PRP injections, and red light therapy. The nursing staff is responsible for cross training in the supportive therapies we offer.
  • Due to the complexity of our patients, their medical plans are often complex. Nursing staff are responsible for guiding patients through their complicated plans and answering their questions via phone or portal.
  • Collaboration between all departments is essential, with weekly rounds and case presentations.
  • Hours are 8 hour days Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays.
  • A 4-6 week training schedule will be implemented upon hire.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Ability to start peripheral IVs and access central lines.
  • Willingness to cross train in supportive therapies and phlebotomy.
  • Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as the ability to work autonomously.
