You may have noticed the beautiful house at the Pine Hollow Arboretum as you park to explore the trails. This was our Founder, Dr. John Abbuhl’s home, where he raised his kids and began the Pine Hollow Arboretum. This is truly an architectural gem of a home.

This house was built by Henry Blatner in 1941, who excelled in the Modern Movement style. Some of Blatner's other notable works were Clarksville Elementary and his contribution to the design of the Empire State Plaza. This house gives off a ton of Frank Lloyd Wright vibes and has a lot of potential. That being said, it needs a lot of work before we can open it up to the public.

Over the next year(s), PHA is going to work hard to make this house open to the public. We plan on using it to host school groups, community organizations, small events and gatherings, poets, artists, fundraisers and so much more! Drop us a line and tell us what you would like to see it be used for clicking the button below.

Have an interest in seeing this home become open? We are looking for people with a passion for PHA and some knowledge about buildings to join our building committee (a volunteer position). Email pinehollowarb@gmail.com for more info!
