Guilderland, NY – December 30, 2019 – Community Caregivers, Inc. has hired Lee Lounsbury as its new executive director. Lounsbury has an extensive background in program, policy and management strategies for non-profits. She brings with her over forty years’ experience in both the public and private human services sectors. Lounsbury holds a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the State University of New York at Albany and a M.S. in Public Administration from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.

In June 2017, Lounsbury retired from her position as executive director of Welfare Research, Inc., a non-profit specializing in technical assistance to human service agencies. Prior to WRI, she worked as the associate executive director for the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies and as an associate commissioner at the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. "We are absolutely thrilled to have Lee Lounsbury lead our team of outstanding professionals who are committed to our mission. Lee's extensive background, expertise and life experiences will certainly solidify and amplify our service delivery and position us well for the future," said W. Scott Hicks, President of the Board of Directors for Community Caregivers.

Originally from Saratoga, Lounsbury has called Guilderland home for the past thirty years. She is committed to serving those in the Capital District and is an active member of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of New York. “This is our community,” said Lounsbury. “I care deeply about it and want to see how I can help keep ‘neighbors helping neighbors.’” For twenty-five years Community Caregivers, Inc. has helped those in local communities who may require a little assistance while they remain in their homes and live independently with dignity. Through a network of dedicated staff and volunteers, clients receive reassurance calls, friendly visits, help with transportation, shopping and light chores. Caregivers are also provided support through education and respite visits.
