Bridge to College is a mentoring program aimed at guiding our first-generation students and families through the college application process. The program spans two academic years, beginning in January of a student’s junior year through the first semester of senior year.
For our second cohort, we have accepted 21 juniors into the program. These students have been identified by their counselors or teachers as being “first-gen” and interested in attending a four-year college. We are now looking for 21 staff or community members to serve as mentors for these students.
To be a mentor you absolutely do not have to be an expert in the college application process. Rest assured that we will provide training for all mentors so that you feel equipped to support your student and their family. Below you will find a Calendar of Events for both junior and senior year so that you get a feel for the level of commitment.
If you are interested, please sign up here! Opportunities for mentorships are limited. You will be notified via email if we are able to pair you with one of our students by mid-January. If we are unable to pair you with a student in 2020, there may be additional opportunities in the future to be part of Bridge to College.
