Name: Meet the People Making Local Farmland Conservation Happen: Talks, Tastes, and a Tour
Date: June 13, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
“Meet the People Making Local Farmland Conservation Happen: Talks, Tastes, and a Tour!” Join us as eight local farmers will share their stories in the open-air apple barn at Indian Ladder Farms. The event is free and open to the public! Participating local farms include Indian Ladder Farms, Laughing Earth Farm, Chaseholm Farm, Stanton's Legacy Farm, Lovin' Mama Farm, Riverview Orchards, Tilldale Farm, Lansing's Farm Market & Greenhouses.

The second in a two-part series on land conservation will focus on how farmers have conserved working farmland. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how local farmland conservation is possible—while enjoying complimentary samples of Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery craft beverages and local, seasonal foods. In addition to farmers, the event will highlight organizations and agencies that support farmers and local agriculture, including the NYS Agriculture Commissioner, Richard A. Ball, the NY Farm Bureau, American Farmland Trust, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, and the National Young Farmers Coalition, Agricultural Stewardship Association, and others!

Before the event, from 5:00 to 5:45 PM, Indian Ladder Farms will offer a Guided Farm Tour, which requires pre-registration; email education@indianladderfarms.com (no registration is necessary for the main event). Thank you to the six co-sponsors of the event: the neighboring Towns of Bethlehem and New Scotland, Albany County, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, Delmar Farmers Market, and Indian Ladder Farms!
